Unhappy window problems

a problem just started with my windows where if you use the auto up for the passenger side it goes up stops then comes about halfway down.. also my speaker on the driver side only works when i hit my brakes or am going slow.. my airbag light also just came on all this started today because we've had rain for the past 20 hours straight.. if anyone knows what could be the problem or and suggestions let me know

thanks

I have the window problem too, I think is one of the following things. first one is that the motor is "confused" doesn't know where the top of your car is, so it is thinking that something is in the way, so the motor automatically bring the window down. This can be fixed by taking it to the dealer and they will rest set it for you. The second that your window motor has an open in it, so it can’t store any memory... so even if the dealer resets the window for you, it will just happen again when you use it again. You have to replace the motor to fix it, and it is about $350 for the motor itself I think... I had both of these problems, and everything i said here is what the dealers told me. so i hope this helps. good luck.

DO NOT replace the motor! There is a somewhat simple reset procedure - well it would be simple if the reset button was not hidden behind the inside door panel. Search one of the other forums - I suggest the wiki at 35Z-Tech and that will tell you how to reset it. Very common problem - I've had it reset by the dealer once and now it needs it again 3 years later, but it is NOT a bad motor causing that. And yes, it has to do with the backup feature when it thinks it has detected a jamb, like your GF's arm or something, lol. Funny in that on mine, the problem goes away when it is cold and then comes back in the spring.

Does your car have the Bose System? The way it is wired is very weak. The connectors behind the Stereo get broke or loose all the time. It will cause some strange things to happen like you stated. You can either replace the entire Head Unit with an aftermarket unit ( don't forget the required harness usuall picked up for 25 bucks ) or get the OEM connectors and replace them and maybe some wiring. Best bet is to replace the Head Unit itself.
